Eerie Mare (born Lisa Huliaieva, 2001, Dobropillia, Ukraine) is a visual artist based in Berlin. Their practice is shaped by synesthetic perception — they translate sound, atmosphere, and physical experience into color and texture. Their work explores themes such as displacement, resilience, self-exploration, queerness, and the search for new forms of belonging.
Originally from Dobropillia, a small mining town in Ukraine, they learnt how to work with different art materials themselves. They studied Public Relations at V.N. Karazin National University in Kharkiv, while continuing to paint on the side. In 2022 they were forced to flee to Berlin due to Russian invasion to Ukraine.
Their paintings and sculptures have been featured in several Berlin exhibitions, including *Verwandlungen* (Der Kanal) and *Transient – Fundraiser for Ukraine* (New Fear Gallery). Their illustrations were published in several Zines like "In the Garden of Imaginaries" and "Grow Up They Said". Another part of their practice is painting live at events (including party series Puddings and decolonial festival Alter Native), revealing not only the finished piece, but also the process of creation right in front of the audience.
Outside of art creation Eerie Mare is also active in queer community with Kharkiv Pride and Queer Live Drawing in Berlin, as well as cultural life - as a volunteer at Miss Read Art Book Fair in Berlin, Second Biennale of Youth Art in Kharkiv, Kharkiv Music Day and more.
